What's Selling on Poshmark September 2019

TLDR: the best selling items on Poshmark for September 2019 are new with tags items and shoes.

So what do we base our report on? We survey 500 sold women's "just in" listings at several different times to determine what's selling and at what price point. Each item is sorted into the following categories: shirts, pants, jeans, handbags, shoes, jewelry, sweaters, swimwear and activewear.

Here's the results of what's selling on Poshmark in September 2019:

1. Free People was the champion of brands that sold.

Out of the nearly 200 different brands captured in 500 listings, Free People had 22 of those sales. And within the Free People brand, shirts were the hottest selling items.

2. New with tags items were 28.6% of sold items.

AND the average selling price of NWT items was $69.60 versus just $37.87 for pre-owned items. That almost twice as much revenue just for having a tag - so if you come across items with a tag, don't think twice!

3. Vintage items sold for an average of $34.82 per item.

Yep. It pays to have that vintage quality. Most of the vintage listings surveyed were jewelry - but be sure to look for brand / well known labels to ensure a good & quick sale.

4. Shoes dominated for most category sold.

Not only did shoes dominate for most category sold, but they also had an average selling price of $52.24. Talk about making sales happen!

5. H&M, Forever21, Xhiliration and LOFT were among brands that kept selling for under $10.

Unless you can get these brands for...well...free, it might be best to leave them on the racks and go for a brand that will sell for a little more. Free People, Lululemon, Zara and Madewell were the top non-designer brands that were selling for well over $50.

What do you think? What were some of your goals & successes so far for selling in September?
